Ilse Jacobsen is from the idyllic seaside village of Hornbæk in north-east Denmark, famous for its wide sandy beaches and dunes. This is the backdrop for the Danish designer’s life and creativity.
Ilse Jacobsen is both the owner and head of design of ILSE JACOBSEN HORNBÆK. Born and raised in Hornbæk, Ilse has chosen to continue living in her beloved village on the beautiful white sands of Hornbæk beach.
Life near the ocean requires waterproof footwear and outerwear. Tired of bad smelling and poor quality PVC rubber boots and raincoats, Ilse Jacobsen decided to create a stylish, functional and comfortable rainwear collection for outdoor activities in both urban and suburban settings.
Since 1993 and celebrating her 20 year anniversary last year, the design philosophy has been based on Scandinavian simplicity, embracing comfort, elegance and femininity in fine balance with modern urban living and affordable prices.
Offering two collections a season, Ilse’s signature of sophisticated functionality and casual, classic comfortable design is beautifully enhanced with themes inspired by Nordic nature. Her lifestyle collection including clothes, shoes, handmade rubber boots and stylish rainwear embrace wearable glamour no matter whether they are for work, relaxing at the weekend, the school run or parties.
